During purchase order entry/edit, enter an item number. The program can retrieve purchase information for that item from the Item Price File. This program allows entry and changes of purchase order information for the items in the file. Each item has a description and three unit names that are common with the accounts receivable (sales) portion of the item record. Up to nine vendors may be assigned to a single item. The information stored on each vendor includes the vendor number and name, vendor catalog number, purchase unit name, vendor price, minimum order quantity and a conversion factor of sales units per purchase units. Accounts Receivable (sales) information may also be entered through this program.
This program allows for each item to be assigned to a location ID and location description, to the warehouse or a truck and to an area within each location.
Pick tickets are entered into a Batch. For more information on using the Batch system, please see Making the 5 Step Entry Process a Habit. A Batch may be assigned to a Job, Equipment or General Ledger account. The pick ticket will contain the following information: ticket number, description, date, location, destination type, item ID, item description and quantity.
At times it becomes necessary to make adjustments to Inventory when the physical count does not correspond with the count in the computer. This program allows for the addition or removal of items to/from inventory. An adjustment requires entry of the following information: description, item ID, location, area, quantity, value, date and offset type.
