Locations
Each item is assigned to a Location, which is identified by an identification number (ID) and description. Additional information about the Location includes whether the Location is in the warehouse or in a truck. The item is then assigned to a specific Area within the Location.
NOTE: It is highly recommended that the Locations of all items be assigned before maintaining the Item Price File.
The following screen comes into view when the Locations option is selected.
Click on any column header to sort the listed Locations. This will be useful when the list of Locations has grown.
Location ID
During invoice or purchase order entry, this ID number will be used to select the desired Location where the item may be found.
Description
This is the description of the Location.
Add or Change (button)
To modify the location or its description, press the Add or Change button. For more information, see Add or Change a Location.
Delete (button)
To delete the location entirely, press the Delete button.
To Add or Change a Location, press the appropriate button and the following screen will come into view.
Location ID
Enter the desired Location ID. It may be alphanumeric.
Description
This the description of the Location.
Warehouse (radio button)
If the Location is a warehouse, press this button.
Truck
If the Location is a truck, press this button.
Areas at This Location
Enter the Areas and their descriptions where items will be found within the Location. Press Add or Change to enter or alter an Area or description.
To Add or Change an Area within a Location, press the appropriate button.
When the Add button is pressed, a space for the information to be entered will appear. Enter the Area, then press the <Enter> or <Tab> key to enter the Description. It will appear as follows:
To change an Area or its Description, highlight the specific Area, and press the Change button. Change the Area, or press the <Enter> or <Tab> key to change the Description. It will appear as follows:
Delete (button)
To delete the Area entirely, press the Delete button.
