Estimated vs Actual Job Cost Analysis

This report includes percent complete, estimated quantity, per unit cost, actual quantity used, actual cost, balance to complete and man hours.

This report is accessible through Job Costing Analysis Reports. To print this report, check the Estimated vs Actual radio button under the Report Formatting tab.

There are two possible reports.

This report focuses on the estimated and actual costs of each code broken down to a per-unit budget and cost for each code.

Heading

The report heading consists of the report title, date, page number and company name. The limits that were set at the time of printing are also included.

Cost Code

This is the cost code or job phase. Following the code number is the code type (Labor, Materials, Subcontracts, Equipment or General). If a grouping code is assigned, the code is printed behind the code type.

Cost Description

This column contains the name or description of the cost code for the job phase listed.

Field Report

This is the percent complete as reported on the last field report. If percent complete is not entered on the field report, this field will be empty.

Calculated

This is the calculated percent complete. If percent complete is to be entered on the field report and the field report is not current, this field is calculated as explained above. If cost to complete or total completion cost is entered on the field report, this field is calculated for the latest information.

Current Estimates

Quantity

This column gives the estimated quantity and unit name for the job phase.

Budget

This is the current budget for the job phase.

Per Unit

This figure represents the current budget for this cost code divided by the number of estimated units.

Actual Costs

Units-To-Date

This is the recorded quantity to-date. If field reports are used to update this field, the quantity will be the information entered from the latest field report. If the system is tailored to use invoice information only, the field will contain only quantities from entered and posted invoices.

Cost To-Date

This is the actual cost to-date as recorded through the accounting system. This would include amounts charged to the job through Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger and/or other modules.

Per Unit

This figure represents the actual to-date cost for this cost code divided by the quantity of units used to-date.

Cost To Complete

To Budget

This is the projected additional dollar amount needed to complete the work on this cost code.

To Projected

On labor codes only, this figure is the total number of hours of labor used to-date.

Report Description - Estimated Vs Actual Job Cost Analysis Report (Summary)

The Summary Format is identical to the Detail format except for three exceptions. The cost codes are not itemized, there is no cost code description and the Field Report field is empty.

Cost Code (Subtotal Titles)

The Subtotal titles for each group of cost codes are listed.
