Job Costing

Construction Accounting is different than generic accounting processes because it revolves around "Jobs." Every Job is set up with a "Budget." As bills are paid and payrolls are made these "actual" expenses are assigned to their Jobs. Actual costs are accumulated and compared to the budgets for each Job. This accumulation and comparison is "Job Costing." The generic processes of paying bills and making payrolls, creates Job Costing as a byproduct if Job Costing software is being used.
