Job Cost Analysis
Surgeons use scalpels to do their work. Accountants use Job Cost Analysis Reports to do theirs. If a job is 50% finished, but 80% of the costs have already been accounted for, the job may be in trouble. Analysis of what went wrong, why the costs are out of line is what can turn the job from losing money to making it. If a Change Order is necessary, it should show up. If a supplier (vendor) has double billed for an Invoice or we have mistakenly paid an Invoice twice, it will show up. These tiny, but very common errors can bankrupt a business fast.
