New Features in Version 8.0 (December 2007)

DataViewT/FormMaker was enhanced so that:

The DataView setup screen was enlarged to display all of the functions on the Filter tab without the need to “scroll” the screen. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

The Posting Date field was added to the Job Cost Detail Listing.

Job Costing was enhanced so that:

The Job Listing report may now be printed with Billing Phases included.

If the Gross Profit to Date amount is negative on the Bonding Report, the Estimated Profit amount may be selected to print instead of the negative amount.

When importing an estimate, Jobview can now add Job Cost Codes to the Cost Code Dicionary if they don't already exist there.

When entering “Certification” in Job Setup, the name and address of the General Contractor may be transferred into that report with the push of a new button.

When reviewing the Job Setup data, the Job Address now displays in the list of jobs on screen. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

The Job Cost Detail report now includes notations about Overtime (OT), Premium Time (PT), and Regular Time (RT) in the Timesheet Type Description.

The Job Cost Detail report now distinguishes between Regular and Overtime hours whenever overtime is printed.

The Certified Code column was expanded in the Job Setup Wage Rate Table screen. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

The Bonding Report now displays the “Under Billings” total as a positive amount. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

A new interface with Xactimate® and XactRemodelT allows an estimate to be transferred into JobView with the push of a button, and it may be updated later if needed. This new timesaving convenience is only available in JobView. If you use software from Xactware, this is something you've been waiting for.

Accounts Payable was enhanced so that:

Attachments may now be added the Vendor file. Attachments might include PDF files, photos, etc.

Checks to vendors will now display the Customer Number that was entered in the Miscellaneous tab during Vendor Entry. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

Unposted Invoices may be place on “Hold” before they are posted. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

Separate Aging reports may be printed for each Vendor. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

Accounts Receivable were enhanced so that:

A batch of Credit Card Receipts may now be “closed” manually, instead of waiting for the automatic daily closing done by the credit card processor.

Attachments may now be added to the Customer file. Attachments might include PDF files, photos, etc.

When entering a Trade Invoice, if a Job ID is entered and then “Job” is selected as the “Ship To” type, JobView will use that Job ID and instantly look up and enter the Job Address automatically.

Notes may be added to Trade Invoices and Progress Billings.

When voiding an A/R Invoice, Invoices displayed on screen may be sorted by Customer Number. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

Statements may now be printed that are limited to a single Job or range of Jobs.

A new “Print Statements” button was added to the Accounts Receivable Overview that allows the printing of Statements for all companies appearing in any aging category. That new button also has an option to select from previously defined Customer Statement reports.

Payroll was enhanced so that:

Attachments may now be added to the Employee file. Attachments might include PDF files, photos, etc.

The Job Cost Summary of Payroll posting now shows the total hours before and after the posting.

If an employee is out of (has used up) Vacation or Sick Pay, a warning will come to screen if Vacation or Sick Pay hours are entered in Timesheet Entry.

Voided or Negative Timesheets are now excluded from the Certified Payroll Report.

The Employee Hire date may now be printed on the Certified Payroll Report.

Premium Time may now be broken out on the Certified Payroll Report. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

The Employee Listing can be printed using either Legal Names or Preferred Names.

The Employee Listing can be printed with Vacation, Sick Pay, and Pension accrual information.

The Workers Comp Audit by Employee report now includes the option of selecting Date and Fiscal Period limits for actual Payment Dates, instead of accrued amounts.

Employees may be “color coded” by their Employee Classification. The “color coding” system may be defined by the user. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

Standard Deductions may be “prioritized” so that if there is not enough to pay them all, only those with the highest priorities are paid. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

The Employment History field was expanded to handle and display much longer entries.

Inventory/Warehouse Management was enhanced so that:

When entering Pick Tickets, a Default Cost Code for an item is now entered automatically.

The Item Description field now displays the entire Description during Pick Ticket Entry and in Pick Ticket Reports.

Purchase Orders were enhanced so that:

Purchase Orders may now be printed directly from the screen displaying open Purchase Orders. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

General Ledger was enhanced so that:

When doing a Bank Reconciliation or Credit Card Account Reconciliation, amounts for reconciled items now display in a different column.

The Contact Manager was enhanced so that:

Emails may now be sent in “HTML” format, adding color, images, etc. to emails.

Comprehensive Report Enhancements include:

All Report Formats have a new “Load Defaults” button that will alter the format of the selected existing report, loading it with Default Settings.

If a “locked” report was created by someone who is no longer an authorized user, those reports may be deleted. (This suggestion came from the October User Conference.)

While selecting “Limits” for a Report, when a number is entered in the “From” field, that number will immediately be entered as the “To” number also. Of course, a different “From” number may then be entered, overwriting the default number. (This enhancement was a user conference suggestion)

The “Posting Confirmation Page” (the one that prints following a posting) may now be set to print every time or turned Off entirely in Setup>Preferences.

Other Enhancements include:

A new “Right-Click” option was added that allows users to cut, copy, and paste to and from every data entry field. This is in addition to the Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to paste that is already there.

A new Ctrl-Right-Click option was added that allows users to reset the format for appropriate data entry fields from whatever the existing format is to be either “small text” (as typed, with or without capitals) “Capitalized Text” (with the first letter of each automatically capitalized), or “ALL CAPS”. This setting is permanently stored for each data entry field, and for each user.

A new Spell Checker is now available for all data entry fields. Press the F7 key when the cursor is in a data entry field and the Spell Checker is activated immediately for that field.

A new Calculator is available to do calculations and have the results transferred to data entry fields. The Calculator is activated by being in the data entry field and pressing the F5 key. Different types of calculators may be selected from a list of options, accessed through Setup> Preferences> Calculator.

A new “Auto-Fill” function has been added to all data entry fields. As data is being entered, JobView will automatically show a list of previously entered values. If the desired one shows up, press Enter and that value will be entered into the field. During testing, this timesaving convenience impressed people because it saved so much data entry time.

Entries in the Post Log file may now be purged.

Whenever a “List” comes to screen to select from, it is possible to sort that list a number of ways, simply by clicking on the “column headers.”
