New Features in Version 20.1 (July 2020)

Payroll

A new option allows State Records to be moved up or down in the State & Local Taxes tab of Employee Entry screen. This also controls which two states will show up on printed W-2s.

The Earnings Detail report now has the option of including a weekly count of Full Time employees (30+ hours), and the number of Part Time employees. This may be useful in PPP reporting.

When printing State Quarter End Reports, it is now possible to create an export file in the ICESA format (for Texas Unemployment reporting.)

Direct Deposit settings can now be included on the Employee Listing report.

The W-4 entry window in Employee Entry has been updated for ease of use.

On the Paycheck Printing screen, the list of checks to be printed now includes new columns that show the projected check number and net pay amount .

The IRS Form 941 (from 2nd quarter of 2020 on) was updated to reflect the latest revision by the IRS. (It was actually released in Version 20.0 to make it available immediately.)

In order to accommodate the 2020 executive order from the White House, we have added the ability to temporarily turn off the employee withholding of Social Security for individual employeess

When Standard Deductions are added to the dictionary of deductions, they are now auto-numbered by the system.

When Hours Totals are requested on the Earnings Detail report, the system now prints Total Hours in addition to Total Regular Hours and Total Overtime Hours.

Accounts Receivable

A new Golden Arrow button was added to the “Billable Transactions” window in Automatic Job Billing. This allows the immediate export of all the transactions in the window.

The “Item Price Level” field was added as an importable field when importing AR Invoices. This will override the Customer Price Level when looking up prices from the Item Price File.

When importing AR Invoices, and the user has selected “One invoice per customer,” if some of the line items have a tax code and others do not, the system now creates two invoices, one for each tax code.

A new option allows ”nudging” the Deposit Ticket printing down a little.

A new column on the printed Deposit Ticket shows which invoice each receipt was applied to.

The printed receipt in Receipts Entry now itemizes the invoices to which the receipt has been applied.

A new option was added to AR Progress Billings that prints an itemized List of Change Orders.

Draw Requests may now be exported to a spreadsheet, even if Microsoft Excel® is not installed.

The Accounts Receivable Setup window was rearranged for ease of use.

A new “global” Minimum Finance Charge was added to the Accounts Receivable setup window. For example, if an automatically calculated finance charge does not cover the cost of a stamp, a new user-defined minimum value can be used instead.

When generating a Unit Price Billing, the user now has the option of whether or not to create A/P Invoices.

Accounts Payable

User Conference Suggestion: In the Vendor E ntry History tab, it is now possible to click on an open invoice and select that Invoice for payment and then immediately print the check.

The new 1099-NEC IRS form (for Non-Employee Compensation) was added. This is now the default form for reporting amounts paid to vendors.

The IRS Form 1096 was updated to match the new format (including a checkbox for 1099-NEC).

User Conference Suggestion: A global setting has been added so JobView will ALWAYS print invoice detail on check stubs.

When printing an instant check from the Subcontract Invoice entry window, a new option allows printing the Subcontract Summary on the stub.

“Viewing an Accounts Payable Invoice” (the window accessed from the History tab in AP Vendor entry) now has a Golden Arrow button under the Distribution list box. This allows the list to be immediately exported.

Job Costing

The Job record now includes a new Price Level field, so that when invoices are imported, the customer price level may be overridden by the job price level .

A new Quantity field was added to the main Change Order Entry window. When this change order is added to a draw, the estimated quantity will be updated.

Cost Codes in the Cost Code Dictionary can now be marked “Inactive” to simplify look-ups.

The Job Closing Date and Job Closing Fiscal Period fields were added to the Job Site tab in Job Setup. They display as read-only values .

An Employee Limit has been added to the Job Cost Detail report limit window.

When creating a Note attached to a Job, there is a new option in the “Display this Message...” droplist. This option allows the user to choose to display this message when selecting this Job during Purchase Order entry.

The Field Report Entry window now includes Column Totals and the Summary of Contract Information at the bottom of the screen.

The Field Report Worksheet can now be printed with a Summary of Contract Information, and it provides places for Project Managers to write-in new figures for Gross Profit , Contract Estimate , and the Total Cost Estimate , if desired.

When printing the Field Report Worksheet, a new option allows the use of Readability Bars.

General Ledger

A new limit for the GL Chart of Accounts Listing allows including or excluding any Notes.

The List of Loans in the General Ledger Loans window, may now be set to show or hide inactive loans.

When adding a new loan in the General Ledger Loans window, the “Active” checkbox is now set to TRUE by default.

The General Ledger Loans window now includes a Golden Arrow button, allowing loan information to be immediately exported.

When a Financial Statement is printed, the existing checkbox to Warn of Unassigned GL Accounts , will now print the balances in any such accounts too. This is a convenience in quickly seeing why a Balance Sheet may not balance.

When editing a GL Account, the user now has the option to jump to a Check Register (if it is a checking account) or the “View Detail by Account” window, showing all the transactions to this account for any desired fiscal period.

Purchase Orders

When adding a Purchase Order with multiple line items, only one of which is charged to a job, the user is now presented with the option of whether to assign that job number as the PO Default Job ID.

When printing the Purchase Order Listing, the user can now opt to print a new page for each job.

File Cabinet

The File Cabinet will now display PDF records within the File Cabinet viewer window. This means the user can see the contents of the PDF immediately when it is selected, without having to click on the PDF icon and view the file using the default Windows pdf viewer.

DataView

The list of available fields for a view can now be sorted alphabetically.

FormMaker

The preformatted FormMaker for Accounts Receivable Invoices now allows the printing of the “Past Due” stamp.

The FormMaker A/R Statement now allows for inclusion of column totals for all columns on the statement.

General

A new “Open” button was added to all of the Attachment tabs throughout JobView. An Attachment may be immediately reviewed by clicking on the Open button or clicking directly on the image.

A new option was added to the posting notification screen that allows an inactive user to be kicked off JobView.

Setup

A new option allows checks to be sent to a different printer.

Utilities

The Recalculate Payroll Totals utility now includes the option to “Recalculate Time Off Taken.”
