If a "payee" is the person you pay, what do you call someone who pays you?
submitted by Mark Rumsfield

Abby

Payer or remunerator.

Gautam Parida

"Debtor"

Christina

Drawer.
Example:
Bank is the “Drawee”.
Employer (or person paying) is the “Drawer”
Employee (or person being paid) is the “payee”.

The “drawer” orders the “drawee” (typically a bank or another financial firm who holds the money) via a check, to withdraw the amount on the check from the bank of funds and pay put to the payee detailed on the check. The payee then receives and deposits the sum paid to them.
