What is absorption costing?

It's an alternative to variable costing. Rather than having a different cost for each time you produce a product, it's a fixed cost. All of the costs directly related to producing a product are considered. These costs are added to overhead costs.

Material costs, payroll for employees directly involved in making the product, and utilities are all included.
